Banff Fir

acrylic 2ft x2ft palette knife

People who have been to Banff may recognize this windwept fir tree. Coming down from tunnel mountain...I've always loved this tree. Some artistic licence was used and I'm sure I'll continue to play around with it some more.

Hiking Surprise

acrylic, 2 ftx3ft

I reworked an older painting ( Shannon Falls). I like it a lot better now. It still has all that great texture I love. The Title is not so great but I can't call it Shannon Falls anymore because it's so much different. Can I now classify this as a new painting? Here is the old one.

Mountain Slope

I'm working on some smaller paintings...some will be studies for larger paintings.
This one is acrylic, 9in x12 in done with a palette knife.
This took me about 45 minutes. Funny how some paintings are completed  so fast while others of the same size you struggle with.  I had a vivid idea of how I wanted this to look and that helps.

I have submitted some of my work to the Calgary Stampede Western Showcase....it's now out of my hands and the waiting begins! Wish me luck!
