Rooster Pride

acrylic, 12x12
I just had to paint another Rooster so I could have a pair of them and they are so much fun! Any ideas on a better name for this fella?

Another Change

Again I felt this one was too dark and stark. I toned it down, brought out the texure and lightened the background. I do like it much better now. The  bottom ' Runnin Free' is the new one.

Subtle Changes

After 'living' with my painting 'Glow' for a bit, something was not quite right. I'm still not convinced it's fixed but it is better. I toned it down and softened it up a bit, and also brought out the texture more. It doesn't seem to'glow' as much the digital image doesn't do it justice.

Autumn Bank

acrylic, 10 inches x 10 inches
I had a lot of paint left on my pallette, so I tried as quickly as I could to do a little fall landscape from my imagination. I think it worked out ok...I really want to get out and do some plein air painting, take pictures, sketch or just plain observe....I just hope my knee holds out so I can walk a bit further than last year!:(

Rule My Roost

acrylic, 12 inches x12inches
I really like this little rooster. It came together so quickly and I had so much fun with it. The texture worked so well with this I'll have to do more, I think.

Fleece Me

20 inches x24 inches, acrylic
I really enjoyed doing the texture on these sheep...I think it works well. I think this technique would look good on chickens and roosters as well...hmmm...yes I think I will.

Autumn Reflects

acrylic, 12 inches x12 inches
I really wanted to do a warmer painting ( all of my mountain scenes were mainly cool colors) This one I started with a palette knife and then dry brushed and fine tuned with a brush.

I'm looking forward to finishing a painting of 'Sheep' today...yes there are sheep in Alberta.

Here are some pictures from my demo of 'Glacier Lake' and the final painting. The mountains are made much lighter with a dry brush technque after using the palette knife ( to bring out the texture) and the trees are added last. It was a lot of fun doing this demo but I did get a little flusterd and got tougne tied quite a bit..

Kuhl Cows

acrylic 20inchesx 20 inches
'Kuh' means cow in German ( thanks Cynthia)...not sure what the 'L' does but it sounds 'cool'.
