Just put the brush down...not sure if I'm done yet but I'm kinda liking the way this is turning out. You can definitely see the David Langevin influence in the rocks.

The Transition

Mountain Galleries ( Banff )

Mountain Cascade

Ok, here it is, my largest painting to date...4 ft x 5 ft
And yes, yet another waterfall...being my first large painting, I thought I'd better stick with a subject I'm familiar with and did a smaller version of. pretty please with how this turned out...mostly palette knife.

Tangled Stream

I was a little daunted by the size of the canvas and the complexity of the subject ( not sure if my palette knife could handle all the branches without making them look stiff and straight)...but I'm quite satisfied with this one. It's fresh off the easel though, so I'll need a few days to live with it and make adjustments.

Forget-Me-Not Stream Study

Another version of 'Forget-Me -Not Pond'. I started this as a study, but abandoned it in favor of jumping right in to the larger painting. ( I don't often do studies).  I was cleaning my studio, found it again and decided to finish it. Certainly looser than it's larger counterpart, but with a charm of its own.

Emerald Bank

I had a terrible time trying to photograph this painting! I just couldn't get the colors right and even after photoshopping...they are still not right. The original painting looks way better. I love taking pictures as well but they never turn out the way I see them. I have huge respect for professional photographers.

The Chill Within

Fresh off the easel... so I'm not sure I'm quite done with this one but it seems quite fitting given the weather we've been having! I do like painting snow though....tons of shapes!

Snow Lit Banks

Still not as big as I'd like but because I've been working so small, I'd thought I'd slowly work my way up to huge canvases. My biggest worry with large canvases is becoming too tight and detailed...I don't want to lose the freshness and spontaneity I feel my smaller canvases portray.

Yep...more bears

Both bears are acrylic 16 x16 inches. "Bearly Full' and 'Bearly Grown'. 'Bearly Grown' is the same bear as in Unbearably Cute' but was actually started before. Since I sold 'Unbearably Cute' I decided to finish this one. One more grizzly on the way and then I'm done with bears and on to larger landscapes working towards the Stampede and Mountain Galleries.

More Little Bears

I've had a few more requests for more 'little bears'. I didn't want to make them exactly the same as 'The Three Little Bears' which now belongs to Sharon Williams and I have one of her fabulous mixed media/abstract paintings. A polar bear and some sheep are next before I go back to some really large landscapes.

Tread Silently

Thought I'd try my hand at a larger bear...more difficult than I thought...one has a tendency to overwork and tighten up with larger canvases.

Athabasca Rocks

Finally finished this one...taking it to Jasper with me when I go to for the re-opening of Mountain Gallery at Fairmount. Athabasca Falls in Jasper Park is a must see for anyone in the area.

 I never seem to get bored painting these falls...so many different angles!
